WSF Extends Youth Ferry Ticket Validity

Washington State Ferries has announced an important change to youth ticket validity, which will now allow young passengers, specifically those ages 18 and younger, more time on the ferry system. Previously, these tickets were only valid for two hours, but they are now valid for a full six hours, offering significantly more flexibility.

This extension aims to provide greater flexibility for foot passengers from Bainbridge and Bremerton, especially when attending major events in downtown Seattle. Islanders are encouraged to purchase return tickets in advance to avoid long lines at the ticket booths at Colman Dock. The longer validity period allows youth passengers to skip the rush at the ticket booths after an event if they've purchased their return ticket in advance or are using a Youth ORCA card.
