WSDOT Adjusts Youth Ferry Tickets for Six-Hour Validity

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has announced a change to youth ferry tickets, extending their validity to six hours. This adjustment, up from the previous two-hour window, aims to provide more flexibility for passengers ages 18 and younger traveling on the Bainbridge and Bremerton routes.

WSDOT says the extended validity helps riders avoid long lines at Colman Dock ticket booths, especially during major downtown Seattle events. Islanders commuting on the boat or attending events across the water are encouraged to buy return tickets in advance or use a Youth ORCA card to skip the rush. This new flexibility allows youth to manage their travel more easily after events.
