Lost Valley Trail Opens October 1, Completing Cross-Island Route

Lost Valley Trail opens October 1, 2026, completing Bainbridge Island's longest cross-island trail route. The mile-long, mostly wooded trail connects the Head of the Bay with Fletcher Bay Road, spanning 40 acres of open space and including 200 feet of boardwalk. The City of Bainbridge Island, the Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation, and the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District host a ribbon-cutting at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 1. Mary Meier, Executive Director of the Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation, said, This is a landmark moment for our island trail network, Lost Valley pushes us past the 50-mile mark for public trails islandwide, an incredible mark. The Lost Valley Trail is City-owned, with funding from the Foundation.
