Kim Knight Secures Policy 6100 Approval
At its October 8 meeting, the Bainbridge Island School District board received an update on the 2026 Capital Bond and Levy Planning from Dane Fenwick, Director of Facilities, Operations, and Capital Projects. Capital staff are developing bond and levy scenarios following the board's July 25, 2024, approval of the Long-Range Facilities Plan and Sustainability Framework. Chief Financial Officer Kim Knight requested and received approval for the first and final reading of Policy 6100, "Revenues from Local, State, and Federal Sources." Knight said, "I respectfully request approval of the first and final reading of Policy 6100". Knight also presented Policy 6020, "System of Funds and Accounts," for a first reading, updating financial flexibility per new state legislation. Additionally, Whitney Skarbek, Director of Instructional Technology, and Network Administrator Alan Silcott presented an RFP for a wireless network refresh to replace end-of-life infrastructure across seven instructional buildings and three non-instructional facilities, with installation planned for summer 2027.
