City Seeks Feedback on Speed Camera Program
The City of Bainbridge Island invites community feedback on a proposed automated traffic safety camera program via an online survey, open until Thursday, October 29, 2026. This follows an October 14 open house at Blakely Elementary School where reducing speeds and enhancing safety, especially in school zones, was discussed. The City Council will review survey results and input on December 1, 2026. Speeding concerns include the Blakely Elementary school zone, the shared Sakai Intermediate and Woodward Middle School zones, and Miller Road. The City noted, "No decision has been made to implement a speed safety camera program. Community input will help inform future City Council discussions."
