BISD Previews $70.9M Budget for 2026-2027

The Bainbridge Island School District board met July 30, reviewing the preliminary 2026-2027 budget and action items. CFO Kim Knight presented the budget, projecting $70,880,424 in revenues and $70,502,158 in expenditures. The budget includes an 8.5% utility increase, with electricity up 30% and insurance premiums 44%.

Director Dane Fenwick recommended a $27,338.07 change order for the District-wide LED Retrofit, adding 43 fixtures at Woodward Middle School. Associate Superintendent Kristen Haizlip presented the 2026-2027 Student Fee Schedule, recommending a $10 instrumental music fee at Sakai Intermediate School and Woodward Middle School.
