Amii Thompson Presents Policy Revisions

At its September 10 meeting, the Bainbridge Island School District board reviewed five policy revisions. Policy 5254 Staff Expression clarifies employee speech and off-duty conduct. Policy 5280 Separation from Employment updated to align with House Bill 2264, affecting unemployment benefits for workforce reductions. Revisions to Policy 5401 Sick Leave and Policy 5406 Leave Sharing now include provisions for victims of hate crimes and immigration enforcement actions. Policy 6225 Use of Electronic Signature authorizes digital signatures for efficiency. The board also approved donations, including $11,134.28 from BHS Volleyball Boosters for BHS Volleyball travel to California.
